Description: For sale is a really neat pottery bust I just acquired from a long time Ohio collection. Not sure where this pottery was made but possibly Ohio. I believe it dates to the early 20th century but possibly earlier. Lots of crazing. White or cream pottery with a cream / off white glaze. Has a great look and a good size. Lots of presence about it. Just a hair over 13 inches tall. See can for scale. Weighs over 13 pounds. The flakes reveal some unglazed parts. The flakes are very old as you can see how the pottery has become dirty. You can also tell the piece is old by looking at the base. Ive seen other Ohio pieces made in the late 1800s or early 1900s with similar clay. Condition: Lots of crazing cracks. Some small and some very large and thick. A few flakes. Some about finger nail size, but most smaller. Not many flakes. The crazing cracks are from the piece drying before it was fired. They are stable. The piece is not falling apart. As made essentially except for the flakes. There is a hole in bottom as it was made. See photos and video to determine condition.
