Stunning soup cup and saucer set by TC Brown Westhead Moore, Cauldon, for Richard Briggs Co, Boston. The cup features elaborate handles and beautiful shape. The set is decorated with heavily gilded accent, handpainted flowers/roses and gold filigree on the inner rim. Measures: cup - 5.25" handle to handle with handles included; Saucer 6" in diameter. Condition: SOLD AS IS due to crazing and discoloration areas on the cup, one small short line on the cup near rim (pictured). Wear to gilt; production related imperfections; use related marks and scratches; wear on undersides/foot and handles; discoloration (there is an area near the base/foot on the exterior and interior) due to crazing. Please see pictures for additional info. Marked with "Cauldon" mark in black, which corresponds with the Brown-Westhead-Moore period - Brown Westhead Moore were manufacturers of high grade earthenware and porcelain at Cauldon Place, Hanley. The mark was used from 1862.
