Description: Beautiful, antique, Austrian sugar bowl with lid or tea jar. The vessel is 6 1/2” tall and about 5” at its widest point, which is rather large for a sugar bowl, so some have suggested this is instead a jar to store loose tea. My research indicates the red vase on the bottom is the mark of the Carlsbad Fine China company. The pattern is a delicate moss rose motif with embossed scrollwork. There is still some gold around the upper rim, but significant amounts have worn off. No chips or cracks.
