Description: Capodimonte Porcelain Trinket Box-19c Antique-Neoclassical Porcelain Casket Box Large Size 7" x 6"-Excellent Antique condition. This early hinged porcelain jewelry box is a true masterpiece from the 19th century, adorned with intricate enamel and gilt decorations. Its detailed craftsmanship showcases scenes from Greek mythology, featuring elegant lady maidens and cherubic angels in high relief on the lid. The sides are equally adorned with angel cherubs, birds, and butterflies, all molded in high relief to add depth and dimension to the design. Measuring a substantial 7" by 6", this box stands out on any dresser or vanity. Its hinged lid, accented with upper and lower gilt bronze bands and a clasp closure, opens and closes smoothly, securely guarding your treasures within, very nice ornate gilt bronze work in wonderful condition for its age. Despite its age, this exquisite box remains in excellent condition, free from chips, cracks, or repairs. The gilt accents show minimal wear, adding a touch of authentic patina that only enhances its vintage charm. The marking dating back to the 1800's, this jewelry box is a timeless piece of artistry that is sure to captivate any collector's heart. The pottery is old as shown in photos and hasa few kiln inclusion on the base, common on older glass and pottery. The first use of the Neapolitan “N” topped with a 5-point crown, (coronet), was in 1771.
