Description: Antique C1920s Asahi Shoten Japanese Sterling Silver Torii Shinto Gate Pepper Pot/Shaker. In good antique condition with no dings or nasty scratches. The tab with Chinese characters in the centre of the gate has come off. I’m not sure how to open the pot if you wish to use it. There may be the remnants of spice from previous owners. I have not wanted to cause damage by trying to open the base. I have not tried soaking and have arthritis in my hands, so thought it best to leave it. Measurements approximately: Height 7cm (2 & 3/4”) Width 6.5cm (2 & 1/2”) Depth 2.5cm (1”) Weight: 27.87g I have given it a quick wipe over, but as with all my items I don't over clean or polish.
