Description: Found at a local estate of a well known antique collector, here is an antique dark blue transferware plate measuring 10 1/4". It was made in the mid 1800's by the Scottish potter of John & Matthew Perston Bell whose factory was in Glasgow Scotland. The pattern is Wild Rose. This plate has seen use. There are 3 chips on the rim. The stilt marks are very visible and there is a small area on the rim under the canoe that has the transfer skipped and is just white.See all pics. Will still make a lovely display piece at a much lower price than one in perfect condition. This will be carefully packed and sent by insured mail.
