The tongs are in a traditional form and the arms are hand engraved with intricate, bright cut designs. The top of the tongs has an old, original monogram of the letter K. The inside of the arms are marked with the lion passant for sterling silver purity, a duty mark of the king's head and a maker's mark for William Seaman.
