Description: This is an Antique or Vintage carved wood BUDDHA head, probably Thai. It is Polychrome-painted in BLUE and REDDISH BROWN. There are spots of white, so it was probably painted white under areas. Much is the paint is missing, but the extensive carving makes up for the loss. (2nd to last pic is of the top of the head, where loss is the most.) This BUDDHA head would look great inside on a pedestal, or even outside in the garden. The light wood appears to be a soft wood, although the head is heavy for its size. It is about 12" tall by 8" at widest. Base is about 6" with a notched "signature." The face of this (female?) BUDDHA is very serene. The half-open eyes seem to show the Buddha's enlightenment. It is a very pleasant face (unlike some).
