Description: This is a great antique late 1800s / early 1900s British plate celebrating the figure of Field Marshal Horatio Herbert Kitchener. In his early years, Lord Kitchener was involved in fighting the Second Boer War, at which time he was given the title Baron Kitchener of Khartoum. We suspect that this plate dates roughly from that period of time, which would have been in the late 1800s. The plate does not have a maker's mark, but it would have been made in one of the porcelain pottery centers of Europe at that time - either England, Austria, or France in all likelihood. As noted, it has some wear, but is overall very nice and quite a unique and rare piece of British military memorabilia. It has a diameter of a bit over 8 inches.
