Description: There is nothing wrong with this unique hinged box. It appears to be inlaid with tiny pieces of wood or leather - it actually reminds me of dark beef jerky. The inlay has bee coated with some type of clear coat. I don't know what to make of the emblem on top. It might be astrological, some type of ancient depiction or maybe just whimsical. The inside is made of thin wood and the box is actually made of brass. The brass has a patina. I don't know actually how old this piece is but I do believe that it is an antique. Regardless, it is an old, unique and lovely piece.
