Description: This is a blue first generation antique Nueva Cadiz three layer compound, drawn bead which was quite possibly made in Murano, Italy and which was found in Peru, South America. This antique Nueva Cadiz bead measures 0.91 inches long by 0.23 inches wide and is in great condition with an slight end ding which travels onto the surface of the bead. Nueva Cadiz beads such as this were traded to the New World by the Spaniards during their travels beginning in the 15th century and eventually were traded onwards being distributed throughout North and South America.
