Description: BLUE TILE MINTONS CHINA WORKS STOKE ON TRENT A very attractive Minton Blue and White Tile from the 19th century. The name 'Minton' was used from 1862 until 1871 then 'Mintons' from 1871 onwards. This tile was made sometime after 1871and before 1891 at which time the word England was added to the backstamps. Around the standard print mark of a globe with Minton in the central band is stamped another band with the words: STOKE UPON TRENT WALBROCK. LONDON There is no year cipher that I can see. It measures 152mm x152mm It weighs 423g CONDITION - In good original used condition and showing wear consistent with age and use. There are several small chips to the face, please view photos, however no cracks or crazing and it is clear as a bell.
