They were joint authors of several scientific papers published by The Royal Society, The Physical Society & others, and were involved in many major projects at home and overseas including the New Electric Railway. An indication of the importance of these instruments which were patented in 1882, is the inclusion of an Ayrton & Perry ammeter the Harvard University Department Of The History of Science collection Untested As Is .
