Description: Very good vintage condition. Some fine surface scratches, rich patina. Stone has natural striations, inclusions, flaws, and color variations. Underside of brooch is marked in two places. One mark looks like STERLING; the other is partially illegible. It could be GERMANY (which is odd because German purity marks don't usually include "sterling"). Piece acid scratch tested positive for .925 sterling silver. It also potentially matches maker's marks for several Arts and Crafts silversmiths from the U.S. We could not make a final determination. But what we do know is that this ornate brooch is finely crafted, with lovely details and dimension.Carefully packaged and shipped in a jewelry gift box.
