Description: An antique leather bound/ covered wooden casket/ box decorated with brass studs. Inside is finished with gilt paint and it has two brass hinges. There are ‘curved’ features inside and originally it may have been a cigarette box. The lid has an embossed monogram in Art Nouveau stylised letters ‘AA’. All four corner sides and the lid have small brass studs. It measures 16.5cm x 11cm x 9.5cm high. Condition – wear commensurate with age; the box is solid; the leather is dry; leather worn/ split on the hinge side of the lid (photo12); there is some discolouration/stains; some of the studs are missing from the corners of the box and lid.
