Description: A genuine antique Art Deco Asprey & Co 18K gold, platinum, blue zircon and diamond floral ring presented in an antique Asprey display box and dating to the circa 1920's. It's hard to find authentic Asprey & Co floral rings from the 1920's period and this one is an absolute stunner! Made at about the same time (1925) as Queen Mary, wife of King George V, commissioned Asprey to make a necklace which was later given to Princess Margaret on her 18th birthday, this truly gorgeous and very high quality solid 18K yellow gold and platinum Art Deco period ring by the famous English jeweler's Asprey & Co (founded 1781) was created when Asprey was designing beautiful jewelry representing English woodland wild flowers. The ring has a stunning round faceted 1.2 carat natural blue zircon which glows and sparkles the most intense light to dark sea blues with a wonderful undercurrent of sea greens and surrounded by slightly curling downwards petals each highlighted by platinum bead work and centered by glittering natural diamonds. The stones are prong set in platinum settings, the underside created in a pretty 18K gold flower shape to match the top of the ring. The ring is hallmarked inside the band with 'A & Co' for Asprey & Co and '18CT PLAT' and is presented in an antique Asprey red and gold tooled leather jewelry display box with white silk and velvet interior. The ring is approximately a size 6. The ring measures approximately 11mm across the face. The zircon measures approximately 6.1mm x 6.1mm x 3.8mm or about 1.2 carats. The diamonds are about 1.5mm across. The ring rises about 9mm above the finger. The total weight is about 3.0 grams. The box measures about 3 inches across. The ring is excellent condition. The zircon has very light wear along the facets seen under loupe, all the stones glow and sparkle beautifully.
