Description: Here is an antique piece of jewelry for a lady. It is a fob with a retractable chain to hold spectacles or a pocket watch. It measures 7/8" in diameter. The back of the fob is marked Aldrich's Bolrele, C G Aldrich Co., Boston U.S.A. Pat. Pend. The fob has a C clasp and is good and tight. The retracting chain is in working condition. Most of these fobs were either gold filled or gold plated. . . this one is black and might be painted as the back of the fob has areas with gold showing through. . . just not sure.
