Cast in brass (or bronze) by the Senufo brass casters guild known as Kpeene, this Kodoli-yehe mask combines elements of Senufo mythology and culturally known symbols. The horns are those of the powerful buffalo important to Poro initiates. The shape of the face and design detiles are well known style elements of Senufo sculpture. Smaller than the full-size masks, but larger than most pendant masks. A great example. There are a few imperfections in the mask, just the way the pieces was made. This would make a really lovely and wonderful new home present or a lovely gift for an African art lover. Approximately measurements: 7“ Tall x 4 7/8“ Wide 1 1/2” Deep.
