Description: Antique ABP American Brilliant Period STAR & CANE Hand Cut CRYSTAL BOWL Heavy Size Approx. 9"wide x 2 5/8" high* please see my store under Vintage Glassware for a second, slightly larger ABP bowlHeavy 2 pounds & 15 ounces due to the large lead content in the crystal, a feature of the OLD cut crystal American piecesGenuine circa late 1800sQuality of the cutwork on this piece is EXCEPTIONAL Completely hand blown, hand cut crystal with bedazzling cuts that shine like rainbows with light reflecting off them. The cuts are beveled to add extra glint and shine. A stunning center hobstar star with facets-within-facets. Radiating off of the star are cane and file cuts and large oval loops within loops. Magnificent. This piece looks fantastic from any angle and must have been cut by an extremely skilled artisan Very heavy thick crystal, and well balancedWould be gorgeous displayed on a tabletop, or used as a very elegant jewelry, keys, or change dish. Would also be terrific as an over-the-top luxurious snack bowl, etc Excellent antique condition- would list as PRISTINE but for one extremely small, flat smooth flake on one of the points along scalloped rim edge. The flake does NOT change the shape or tip of the point- it is located on the outside of the point and is extremely minor, hard to notice- see last pic. Not sharp or rough. See last pics. use zoom. NO other damage, I've gone over this piece with a magnifier and can find no other chips or flakes. See all pics and use zoom Elegant and unique.
