Description: Antique A. Buch Sons Elizabethtown PA Solid Cast Iron No.1 Chicken Water Trough Click image to enlarge Description Offered for your consideration is an antique cast iron trough. This is a No. 1 A. Buch Sons trough, which could have been used for chicks/chickens feed or water. It is made of solid cast iron and is marked with the size, No. 1, and manufacturer and location on the inner sides of the trough. The company was located in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, and operated in the very late 1800s to the early 1900s. Overall, the trough is in very good 'as found' condition, with no repairs. I am unsure if the trough has the original finish, or is the result of a later finish. Certainly the addition of the protective pads to the feet are of a more recent modification. The feeder measures 19 1/2" long x 4" wide and is about 1 3/4" deep. It has a hefty weight of 4 pounds 11 ounces and will ship at a weight of 6 pounds, as it will be boxed for protection.
