Description: ANTIQUE 6" CHOREBOY Shaker WOODEN Spinning Wheel MUDDLER Tool MAPLE #5This antique wood muddler (sometimes called choreboy- we believe this is a choreboy (but could also be a muddler or any other wood turned tool!) due to the design and form of the tool. (Possibly Shaker Made- due to some of the features such as the finial turning (there is loss (chunk out of) to the finial end-please see photos) and the incised line around the middle and the design form as well.) late 1800s to early 1900s. The handmade (what appears to be maple but it could be any wood type as we are not experts) and turned wood tool piece measures approx 6" tall and approx .75" diameter/wide at widest portion of tool. It has the authentic old original patina you expect to find of an item of this age and history. It fits in the category of primitives and antiques and is perfect for collectors of old folk art, country, naive, primitive items. The muddler or choreboy tool is made of wood and is unsigned, with no indication of the region of origin but we feel it could be from New England or possibly the NY or PA area. We are in the process of listing approx 6 of these tools that we have purchased over the past few years. These have never been out for sale before and are really nicely made.
