Description: ANTIQUE 19thC INDO-PERSIAN PAPIER MACHE HAND PAINTED LACQUER CARD / CIGAR CASE Description:A unusual and well executed antique Indo-Persian lacquer painted papier-mache Cigar box, dating to the 19th Century.The rectangular box, with canted corners, has been profusely hand painted in polychrome lacquer with fighting monkey demons, animals and other mythical creatures on a gold ground. The lid pulls off to reveal a blue and gold inner sleeve and a red painted interior.Suitable for use as a cigar case, or as a purse/card case.
