Antique 19thc French Paisley Floral Cotton Fabric Pelmet Valance ~ Blue Red

Description: A superb antique 19thc French cotton valance/pelmet in a lovely styized paisley variation. Lots of lovely detail in this marvelous design including Greek key elements which are always very pleasing. Beautiful hues on a rich indigo blue ground. Mid density interiors weight cotton in a large scale. In the 1870’s range. It has brass rings for hanging. Laying flat, it’s a large rectangle with 3 main repeats of the paisley design. Styles beautifully. Excellent used as intended or could be dismantled for authentic & unique period projects, pillow making, patchwork, historic clothing elements, early period reticules etc..Small decorative period upholstery etc.. Condition is very nice for its age & former use Strong. Possibly lightly used.I've done nothing to this so may have a subtle hint of patina well hidden by the color. ***Measures~ aprox 90” wide with a 25” drop. Constructed of 3 panels carefully joined together to form the width. One outer edge has the ruffle, the other edge is sewn straight without the ruffle detail. Many thanks! Welcome to my store!
