Description: This antique snuff box is from the second-half of the 19th century and made in Germany. It features a faux tortoise shell hand-painted surface with gold details and lettering that gives it a an eye-catching appearance. The lid of the box has the name and place: “Joh. Georg Schober in Rüsseina”, while the interior of the lid has another name “Carl Horn in Wolkau”, and I presume Carl gave the box Johann. It is an interesting snuff box for those interested in antique German(likely a product of Berlin or Braunschweig) tobacciana. It is in good antique condition and measures 3 & 3/8 by 1 & 7/8 by 3/4 inches.
