Description: Antique 1944-1960 US Commemorative Stamp White Ace Album Binder GEM Set AQ829 This is an amazing collection! When it first came into our store, we thought it was run of the mill, but upon looking through the pages, it is quite the opposite. The first 35 pages have their original yellowed waxed page barriers. The inner cardstock pages that hold the stamps look nearly pristine, along with the carefully placed stamps, which also have bold, exquisite color. The brand of the binder is Niagara Loose-Leaf Stamp Sections Company, the White Ace album. Each page at the top in color has a federal era designed eagle with a shield and the words "United States Commemoratives". Let me give a brief description of what this set has to offer you. Throughout the total 41 pages, the complete date range of what is present is 1944-1960. Page 1-12 contains 68 stamps that are World War 2 era and late 1940s dating to 1949 commemorating several historical events and war related causes. These first several pages are dual dated with dates of 2-3 years. Page 5 features the Postage Stamp Centenary commemorative stamp and reproduction souvenir sheet for the 100th anniversary of the first two stamps from 1847 that congress created for regular use (Ben Franklin 5 cent and George Washington 10 cent.) Pages 13-35 encompass all the 1950s (50-59). This range of pages houses 118 stamps, on page 24 we again see 1 stamp and 1 commemorative sheet for the (1956) Fifth International Philatelic Exhibition held at the great, new New York Coliseum. The 3-cent stamp shows the convention building and the sheet depicts 2 images of Lady Liberty denominated in 3 & 8 cent stamps respectively. The other stamps commemorate various individuals of historical significance and activities/subjects of prominence. Finally, pages 36-41 are here at the end of the binder. None of these pages have their wax paper protective pages. Thirty-two stamps are contained within pages 36-41. Forty-one has 3 of 5 stamps and pages 42-44 are incomplete. I did not count how many stamps are to be included in the empty pages because that would confuse you from the grand total of items. Total stamps in this collection tally up to 218 in varying amounts of face value. This is truly a survivor of the test of time in fantastic shape! It has been stored properly and is remarkable in all aspects.
