Description: Antique, 88 year old (1933) original oil pastel drawing. Depicts a well done portrait of a cute blonde girl with curly hair and a blue dress with matching blue bow. In my opinion the girl resembles that of child actress Shirley Temple. Well done with nice attention to detail and capture of emotion. Medium is oil pastels on textured paper done in an Impressionist style. Signed and dated Dorothy Green ‘33 in the bottom right hand corner. Framed without glass in a thin contemporary molded wood frame. Backed with brown paper and ready to hang. Inscription on reverse side of frame reads Pastel Portrait by Dorothy Green in 1933. Acid Free backing, brass nails and balsa wood frame March 1984. Provenance comes from a large collection of art purchased from the estate of a southern Massachusetts art dealer. In Acceptable/Good overall condition. Exhibits moderate wear and gentle scuffing as well as a very small tear in the paper (see photo 5). Pastel is sound with minimal loss if any.
