Antique 1930’s/40’s German Solingen BLACK HAWK HUNTING KNIFE HELMET Sharp EUC

Description: Very sharp. Comes with the original "Black Hawk" leather sheath which needs restitching. Blade is 4 1/2” and overall length is 8 1/2”In great condition for its age. This item has always been stored in a dry and temperature controlled location.Ships from a smoke and pet free home.Description Excellent, rare brand, "Blackhawk" Solingen Germany, hunting knife, handled in genuine stag handles.The blade on this hunting knife is razor sharp, and shows few signs of sharpening. Overall length is 8 inches, with blade length of 4 inches.The pommel is extremely unique, shaped like a knight in armor. These stag handled German knives have excellent steel, and are becoming highly collectable. HANDLE: This impressive knife feels heavy, well balanced, and solid when held in your hand. The two-piece handle is made from real stag/bone with rich color tones and natural light signs of aging. The beautiful stag/antler handle slabs are securely fastened with 2 metal pins. There is also a heavy-duty 1 5/8" long finger guard that is firmly secured and there is no looseness on this quality knife. This vintage split-stag handle has a unique "Knight's Head" shaped pommel end, with distinct designs of a knight's helmet. (Please view photos for details) BLADE: This early German steel blade is full and the blade spine measures a hefty 1/8" thick. There is also a 2" inch long "false top edge" that could be sharpened, if desired. The reflective hunting blade has blood grooves which measure 2 3/8" inch long. There are a few very tiny surface age specks normal for the age, and a few very faint surface marks (that can be seen if you turn the blade just right in the light). This well preserved knife has a pointed tip and No blade edge nicks The blade is clearly stamped: BLACK HAWK GERMANY along with the image of a "Hawk in flight". This stunning "Mirror-like" fixed blade is in good Condition especially for being almost a century old. Both the quality and handcrafted details of this Germany bowie makes it a great vintage knife, ready to use or proudly display.
