Description: This antique 1930's Flapper dress is styled beautifully! It is utterly glamorous, shimmering all over with shining silver colored glass beads that are applied everywhere. Construction wise, there is a pink chiffon shift connected to the beaded chiffon overdress which is made in two pieces, though all pieces are attached to each other. On the outside there is a shirt portion and a skirt portion. I think the lower part of the skirt portion of the overdress is bias cut allowing the drape to fall so beautifully. The bias cut handkerchief hem really adds to the graceful form. As for condition, there is tearing to the chiffon at the sleeves and at the back as well to both the inner shift and the outer dress. In fact, just about all of the wear and tear is to the unbeaded chiffon areas so I believe you could rebuild these parts fairly easily. There is some loss to some of the beading, but considering how much beading there is I would say the bead loss is minimal! There is a stain on the "wrap" which falls directly under the chest. A girl after my own heart, as she must have spilled a glass of wine here! In addition, there are two other similar stains near the hem of the dress. They are less noticeable due to their location. You might have a way to clean these. I have not tried, but even if you don't, perhaps a large piece of sparkling jewelry could cover at least the stain at the chest. I am including the antique pink velvet silk lined reticule that is pictured as I believe it went with the dress originally. It is in excellent condition. Because the under dress and the outer dress are connected at the strap sleeves, and the chiffon is so delicate, untangling the dress was a frustrating puzzle. I will try my best to keep it packed in such a way so you don't have to struggle with it too much! This is truly an exceptional antique beaded Flapper dress, definitely worthy of restoration! The dress fits the size 4-6 mannequin perfectly. Rather than measure the dress, I will provide measurements of the curvy mannequin. Bust 35” Waist 22” Hips 39”
