Description: Damaged yet beautiful antique brassiere with battenburg lace trim. I originally thought this was Edwardian, but the side seams are finished with a serger; so it’s more likely that this piece was manufactured by a company in the early 1920’s when sergers were first commonly used on women’s undergarments, but were not available for home-use just yet. Sadly there is no brand tag to certify my suspicions about it being a factory-produced 1920’s brassiere. But looks very similar to ads for brassieres sold during this era. The fabric is damaged on the front right label near the bottom. The lace is damaged in at least two spots. All original hook and eyes are present - only one eye is damaged. See photos for details of all reported damage. I did not attempt to launder this piece due to the delicate nature of the fabric. **MEASUREMENTS** (appx) bust: 42” waist: 36” shoulder to shoulder: 16” shoulder to hem: 16”
