Description: Here we have this very old lignum vitae carved ball or sphere with a circumference of 8" and a width of 2-1/4" or smaller than a baseball but larger than a golf ball. I believe this dates to the 18th or early 19th century and is slightly out of round with a couple of tight splits. I'm not exactly sure what this was used for but I assume it's a game of some sort. A very interesting artifact with a lot of age and patina. Please view the photos and email if you have any questions.
