Description: Antique 18th Century Brussels Schuermans 10.5" Lidded Flagon PitcherThis is one of those pieces that I spent some time researching and I would like to add what I found. But since I spent such time looking I have gained quite an appreciation for it. It was made in Brussels between the years of 1770 and 1800 by a pewterer named Schuermans. That mark has since faded but through my research I tracked down its match with both the other two marks and the middle one that is since gone missing. At the time I am writing this this is between 220 and 250 years old. If there are four generations per 100 years that would be roughly 10 generations that have carried this in their possession. That is bananas. I buy and sell tons of antiques but sometimes its items like this that have a use in a families life that hit home.
