Description: Painting We are selling this 18th or early 19th century Oil on canvas painting. This painting features a Meditteranean or French harbor port scene with several figures and boats. The painting is in the style of Claude-Joseph Vernet (1714-1789) and could be by him or a follower or member of his circle of artists as the canvas does appear to be 18th century or early 19th at the very latest. Condition: Painting appears to be cut down slightly and is mounted on a masonite panel. Heavy nicotine smoke damage to frame, we wiped the painting but it still has a slight smell overall.
