I can only imagine the parlor room in a Victorian home where the book was given as a Christmas gift from a lover. See the photo of the charming quill and ink inscription "To Ada from Frank Christmas 1890". No dust jacket. There is shelf wear and the front and back covers show paper separation, but they are still intact. The spine is intact. None of the 464 pages are bent, torn, missing, taped, marked, or stained.
