Description: This is such a beautiful rare find! It is what a saddle maker would use to hold the leather as he worked on it. Very primitive from the 1800s. It was purchased from an Iowa farm in the late 60's and used by a leather worker for a short period and then put in storage for many years. It is in clean vintage condition. It has been oiled with Watco to recondition. The leather strap is still in good condition and attaches to the jaws and the adjustable lever under seat. There is a readable Randall triangle logo stamp on the jaw which makes the item very rare. Great conversation piece...you can use it for a side table or just use it for leather work...still works great as designed. It will look great in a farmhouse or ranch and would be an awesome gift for a horse lover! THE J.D.
