Description: Antique 1874 Steel Plate Engraving Print Lake George NY Adirondacks. 9.25x 12.5”. Great antique Print of a steel engraving of Lake George NY in the Adirondack region. Printed in heavy paper, similar to cardstock. Paper measures approximately 12.5” x9.25”. The engraving measures approximately 8 7/8” x 5.25” The following is printed on the print: J.W.Casilear NA Entered according to the Act of Congress AD 1373 by D. Appleton & Co in the office of the Librarian of Congress Washington. R. Hinshelwood Lake George New York. D. Appleton & Co. And, printed in pencil: 1874 The engraving is amazing—-very detailed and looks equally great up close or from a distance. Serene Lake George view. As an antique print, there are some signs of age or use. Please note an ink spot on the paper to the right of the picture. Some patina. Some areas of dust or dirt—-I have not tried to remove, but an artists eraser may clean up the white border of the print. I notice a small dot close to the right border that appears slightly red. No attempts have been made to remove. Please review all photos carefully as part of the description. Please ask any questions prior to purchase. This item is unframed, but will be shipped with a foam board that it was found with. Lovely addition to your Adirondack collection!
