Description: Here is an antique Bible. NOTE: It needs binding work. The cover is loose. It needs a good restoration. See pictures. The pages are in good condition. The family history is sad. It starts with James McGraw marrying Mary in 1831. They had George McGaw in 1832, John McGaw in 1834, Eliza Jane McGaw in 1837 and Mary Josephine McGaw in 1841. James died in February 1842 at age 34. Then, in May of the same year, Mary's daughter, Eliza Jane passed, she was 4 years old. Mary lost her husband and first daughter within a matter of a few months! Mary then gets married again in 1850 to Alexander Rutherford. They had James A Rutherford in 1852 and Emma Jane Rutherford in 1854. Then Emma Jane passed away in 1858 just 20 days or so before her 4th birthday. Later, in 1868, Mary's firstborn son, George McGaw passed away at age 36. Mary eventually died in 1882 at age 70. The handwriting is a bit different in her death entry. Perhaps she made all the other entries and her husband, Alexander, made the final entry. He writes, "Mary P Rutherford departed this life October 11th 1882 aged 70 years 8 months and 24 days beloved wife of Alexander Rutherford".
