Description: Antique Biedermeier watercolor miniature painting of a young woman dressed in black with an Apollo Knot hairstyle of the period. The watercolor is signed on the left Machera 1833. It is in the original frame that measures 9" x 7 3/4". The watercolor measures 6" x 4 1/2". It has a black oval mat and decorative brass surround with the original glass. The watercolor is painted with great skill. The colors are clear and bright. The black frame has a vertical split on the top middle. There is a faint horizontal tear across the edge of her chest, above her dress top. I have tried to photo it as best I can. The hanger in the back is make shift. I have had this for over 20 years, and this is the way I purchased it. It has been hung this way this long. It is a beautifully painted piece of the past. Thanks for viewing.
