Description: Antique/ Vintage Mortar and Pestle Set from the 1800s is manufactured by the Thomas Maddock and Sons Co. Condition issues include a splitting of the turned wood handle on the Pestle (see detail pics). No chips, no cracks to the Mortar but has discoloration due to use overtime. This is a lovely decorative piece. I would not recommend using this set to prepare food for consumption because of its pharmaceutical history. Dimensions are 8 inches in diameter X 4.5 inches tall.
