Mother is the Anthurium Longistrorsum, this is a large growing species with leaves that extend over a foot away from the main trunk when mature, and each leaf can be over a foot and a half in size. The shape of most leaves is a perfect heart shape. The bloom has a very nice fragrant smell. The leaves have a similar texture to anthurium luxurians with a bullate surface. The pollen used was from three or four different fathers. The fathers are world renowned. I'm trying to breed for color with this breeding, so I used a. moodeanum, a. chamberlanii x watermaliense, and a. valentine from Novelty Greens Hawaii. A fourth potential father is a velvet leaf species anthurium dolichostachyum. I have grown out one of these hybrids of the a. longistrorsum x a. dolichostachyum. It is showing some real nice traits from both the mother and father, the velvet texture of the a. dolichostachyum and some of the red colored roots that the a. logistrorsum produces. As with most hybrids these tend to grow much faster than the pure mothers.Each order will receive 3 seedlings, one from each breeding. There were three distinct blooms.First 12 pics are of the mother; additional pics are of the father plants and seedlings. Plants are shipped on Monday in order to avoid any delays over the weekend.
