Description: "An Unfrequented Highway: Through Sikkin and Tibet to Chumolaori" is a 133 page (plus xii, 16 plates and a map), 7.75"x10.25" hardcover written by John Easton and published in 1929 (this is the first American edition) by Alfred A. Knopf (New York). From the back cover: "This is the story of the author's adventures during his picturesque, yet casual, journey through Sikkim and Tibet to Chumolaori, 'divine mother of mountains.' Mr. Easton has a quick eye for the strange and humorous, and an undeniable flair for writing down his observations. This beautifully illustrated book will be welcomed by all who delight in adventuring vicariously." The book is in very good condition, in an acceptable dust jacket. The jacket is now protected by a clear plastic sleeve, but has several chips and tears, a couple small holes and discoloration at the spine, a moisture stain to the back, light soiling. The black cloth boards show light edge wear and scuffing. There's a small pencil note to the ffep. The binding is tight.
