Description: Concerning the provenance of this book, I initially thought the bookplate and signature at the front belonged to Robert Lowth (1710-1787), but I have found some things that conflict with this. The closest matching crest I've found for the one on the bookplate (I can send these matches upon request. They are nearly identical.) I've found bearing the Dunsany name, and I have not found a bookplate owned by Robert Lowth. This is to say that I do not know who Lord Lowth is and that I would encourage you to do your own research if you wish to find out. This book also comes with a helpful little information slip left in by a previous bookseller. Condition: binding firm. Light scuffing to the cover on both boards and near the tail of the spine. The leather on the spine is wrinkled slightly. Light crushing to the corners of the boards. Writing on both free endpapers and a glued on bookplate to the front pastedown. The front free endpaper is a little loose and torn at the gutter. Pages are clean overall with light toning and a few marks throughout.
