Description: An early section of the Transatlantic Telegraph Cable. It comes with an old note reading, 'Part of the 'Atlantic' Cable'. The note was originally attached by a piece of string to the cable. However, over time the paper has ripped but the string is still attached to the cable. The cable measures approximately 5cm in length and 2cm in diameter. The item is in good condition overall, however, there is some rust to the external wires protecting the copper inside and also some green oxidisation to the ring. Please see photos.
