Luang Pu Phrom-ma history In the northeastern region of Thailand, there are several renowned monks who are highly respected by the local people. One of these revered monks is Luang Pu Phromma Khemajaro, a prominent Buddhist monk from the Isaan region. He had a remarkable teacher who was known as a hermit with extraordinary abilities, particularly a keen insight. This teacher possessed strong and sacred magical powers. Luang Pu Phromma Khemajaro was a dedicated disciple of Somdej Lun from Champasak city, known for his immense supernatural abilities. He was a mysterious figure who chose to reside atop a remote mountain, far away from civilization. His primary focus was on mental meditation, a crucial aspect of his spiritual practice. He was regarded as a true spiritual refuge for Buddhists in the region. Luang Pu Phromma Khemajaro, originally named Kaew, was born to Father Kaew Onchantuk and Mother Sida Onchantuk in 1897 in Ban Kusakorn, Trakan Phuetphon District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. It is said that Luang Pu Phromma Khemajaro's journey began when he encountered a hermit teacher with a keen insight and exceptional magical abilities. Later, he ventured across to the Thai side. In 1990, Luang Pu Phromma Khemajaro arrived at Phu Krachiao Hin Suan Cave and noticed that on moonlit nights, various wild animals would roam freely, making it an ideal place for self-practice. Consequently, he decided to rest and engage in spiritual practices there. During that night, the wild animals appeared to run around as if they were welcoming or escorting someone. Local villagers believed that the mountain's owner possessed great power, and no one dared to stay there. However, Luang Pu Phromma Khemajaro expressed his joy, stating that he came out to show his appreciation. He continued his meditation and realized that celestial beings were making offerings to him. "Stay on this mountain. Whatever you desire, it shall be provided." Following this, Luang Pu Phromma Khemajaro went out to collect alms and shared the merits with his spiritual guardians. His presence brought happiness to the nearby communities, significantly enhancing their well-being. Even Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn paid respects to Luang Pu Phromma Khemajaro on two occasions. During this period, Luang Pu Phromma Khemajaro remained in good health, consistently practicing Dhamma, providing support to his followers, and assisting the residents of Dong Na and neighboring villages. A half-church and sermon hall, valued at over 40 million baht, were constructed on the summit of Phu Krachiao during that time. Luang Pu Phrommacharoenphon mentioned that these structures were gifts from the heavens. Regarding his personal history, he refrained from disclosing any details, regardless of whether someone offered 500,000 baht or even a million, suggesting that it was a matter of personal experience. He welcomed anyone interested to come and witness the truth themselves at Suan Hin Pha Nang Khoi Cave, Phu Krachiao. On August 23, 2002, Luang Pu Phromma peacefully passed away from heart disease at the age of 105 at Wat That Wararam in Loei Province. He left behind a legacy of sacred objects that he had created throughout his life. These objects have benefitted countless generations, producing numerous miracles for his followers. The sacred objects of Saisam Lun are particularly renowned for bringing kindness, luck, success in business, and safety to those who venerate them.
