Description: This Listing is for ONE NEW Sheet of 20 America Responds, Heroes of 2001 Nondenominated Stamps from 2002. (Face value of each stamp is 37¢) Mint. MNH. No flaws. From a Smoke-free and Pet-free Environment. On June 7, 2002, the U.S. Postal Service issued these semipostal America Responds: Heroes of 2001 self-adhesive nondenominated stamps in New York, NY. The stamp art was designed by art director Derry Noyes, based on a photo taken by photographer Thomas E. Franklin of the Bergen Record newspaper - of three weary firefighters raising a flag over the rubble that had been the World Trade Center. During the two-plus years they were on sale, these stamps raised $10,565,073, that was given to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to distribute to the families of emergency responders killed or disabled during the 9/11 attacks on New York, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, PA. About 1,000 people or families were eligible to receive aide; and each received about $10,000. Scott # B2 Free Shipping in the U.S. by USPS First Class
