There are numerous colors with in these amber pieces, blue, green, honey even burgundy hues. Please read up on Dominican amber if you aren’t currently up to date on it. You do not automatically see Blue in the Amber, the bright blue color is only present in lighting with UV rays (like sunlight) many will show photos of this magical blue all of a sudden appearing when it’s cut and polished but they are using a bright UV light in these photos. This makes stunning jewelry but we want everyone aware that it is indeed affected by the lighting you’re in. A fascinating property of blue amber is the color that it will change when a fluorescent light is shown on it. It will be a dazzling bright blue because the fluorescents inside it will react to the light.However, the same rock will look yellow or brownish when a white light source, such as the natural sunlight, shines from behind it. Blue amber is almost completely found in the Dominican Republic. Please see photos for dimensions. Some photos are wet (all Amber is shown dry) to give a comparison to if it were polished.
