Description: Vintage original 1950s circle skirt from Mexico, hand painted with beautiful girls... wearing their own skirts! SKIRTS ON SKIRTS Y'ALL! I hate calling things rare that are merely uncommon, but this is truly rare. My past pre-kids/pre-nursing life I lived and breathed wearing, collecting, and selling vintage clothing-this is the only skirt I ever saw like this. Each lady not only has a lace-trimmed petticoat sewn on top of the actual big person skirt, but then her very own hand painted skirt on top of THAT. Underneath, the girls are wearing undies, don't worry-that detail was not overlooked! In between there's the expected flora along with bright swashes of color. Missing a hook/eye set at the front waist (easy fix-and you can put them where you want), has ties that wrap around and tie at the back waist, too. Tag reads Textiles Tipicos Mexicanos. Condition is very good, fully wearable and totally show-off-able. As I mentioned, just needs a hook/eye set at the front waist or whatever other securement you want to add to your waist size. I found a couple pin holes when holding the skirt up to light and scrutinizing it, and where attached to the main skirt, there's a 1/4" tear next to where one of the girls' skirts is. A couple tiny thin points at the front waist where a securement used to be. A little bit of fray to the lace edging of the girls' petticoats. Waist would be about 26-27" if you put the fastener close to the ends of the front tie-skirt could fit larger though if you rigged something up where you didn't need those ties and use the back ones to keep the skirt on. Hips are totally free. 25" long.
