The editorial board for the book includes Elissa Alto who was Alvar's partner and, by the time of this book preparation, his widow. See Table of Contents in Picture 4…..Consists of 8 major sections. The first 4 are mostly essays with lots of accompanying illustrations. The “Excerpts” are quite interesting. The chronology shows illustrations of his works over time, providing their names and brief descriptions. The “Selection of ARTEK’S Standard Models” give greater details for particular items including line drawings, color photographs, materials. The “Fixed Furniture…..” focuses on interior details with both b&w photos and line drawings for Auditoriums, Entrance Halls… Alvar Aalto’s (1898-1976) modernist and humanist works focused heavily on elements of organic geometry and the use of natural materials.
