Description: Alphonse Mucha JOB Fine Art Limited Edition Embossed Lithograph COA S2 Art Description Condition:Mint, unused, never framed nor hung This is a limited edition, hand pulled, fine art embossed lithograph of Alphonse Mucha's, advertising poster titled: JOB. Note: Because this lithograph is embossed it, ships flat. One of Mucha's best-known advertising posters, the Joseph Bardeau Company commissioned the artist, in 1896, to create this poster to promote their cigarette papers. There were numerous editions, subsequently, published in a variety of formats for the international markets. This hand pulled lithograph preserves Mucha's classic work art. It was pulled on Rives BFK archival, acid free paper one colour at a time, from separate plates, in perfect registration for a limited edition of 300 pieces. The edition is numbered 1/300 to 300/300. There is also a museum edition of 35 (1/35 to 35/35). This piece was recreated, from the original image by Alphonse Mucha, under the endorsement of the Mucha Foundation. The chromist created this image by hand-drawing directly onto specially prepared surfaces, which were then chemically transferred onto lithographic plates, one plate for each color. The plates used to create this edition have been destroyed. The lithograph was printed at S2 Atelier in New York City by master printers, under the supervision of Technical Director, Raymond Mazza. This piece was hand-drawn at the Mucha Foundation while viewing the original - so colors are a perfect match. You almost cannot distinguish it from the original. Great care was taken to precisely recreate Muchas original image. This recreation bears the chop marks of the Mucha Foundation and S2 Editions Atelier. The signature of the chromist is printed unobtrusively on this lithograph in order to distinguish this recreation from Muchas original work.
