Description: This is a hardbound book in a dust jacket entitled "almanac &c.: A Collection of Early American Almanacs" published by Westvaco in 1985. The book is 9-1/4 by 5-3/4 inches with 294 pages. The book is in fine condition. For 50 years, from 1958 to 2007, the West Virginia Pulp and Paper Company (also known as Westvaco) issued an annual Christmas book. The original design of the books was by Bradbury Thompson, a very prominent graphic designer who designed books, magazines, postage stamps and other types of printed materials. He designed the Westvaco Christmas books for a number of years, and after he no longer directly designed the books, his basic format continued to be used throughout the series. While the books were issued in “limited editions” it is unclear how many were printed.
