Description: Up for your consideration is this Allegheny Airlines vintage in-flight service tray with logo. This piece measures 10 ⅞" x 8 ⅜", weighs 7 ½ ounces & is in very good condition. Allegheny Airlines was a regional airline that operated out of Pittsburg, PA, from 1952-1979 with routes primarily located in Eastern U.S. It was the forerunner of USAir that was subsequently renamed US Airways, which itself merged with American Airlines. Nice piece of vintage history. The way this tray was designed is very ingenious. The willy-nilly pattern on the front of the tray actually ‘hides’ the scratches made by the utensils used on it. The first 6 photos were taken in my kitchen with natural sunlight (not direct). The last 2 pictures were taken during late evening & using fluorescent lighting & tilting it into the light source. One of the impressed set of numbers on the back of the tray is 9-60 & may be the manufacturing date (just my opinion). The tray is slightly warped (doesn’t sit flush on a flat surface). Please view all pictures because they are integral part of the description for this listing. The tray will be shipped out via FREE USPS Priority mail.
